CEO & Co-owner
Chris Doney is the CEO and co-owner of Blackrock Decks, bringing a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for craftsmanship to every project. He believes the best work comes from being involved, not just in the office, but out on the job sites and alongside the people building them.
Chris enjoys meeting with homeowners, learning what they envision, and helping turn their ideas into outdoor living spaces that feel like a natural extension of their home. From the first conversation to the final detail, his goal is to create something thoughtfully designed, well-built, and made to be enjoyed for years to come.
Outside of Blackrock, Chris is happiest outdoors. He enjoys hiking with his two dogs, working on woodworking projects in his shop, and planning the next family adventure. Chris and his wife are raising three kids, and they love spending time outdoors and making memories with family and friends.
Chris’s passion for craftsmanship and the outdoors is what inspired him to build Blackrock. He wants the company to be known for exceptional work, honest service, and outdoor spaces where families can gather, relax, and make memories.
President & Co-owner
Shae Hansen is the President and co-owner of Blackrock Decks, bringing more than 30 years of construction and building experience to every project. With a degree in Business Management and a lifelong passion for construction, Shae combines hands-on experience, creativity, and a commitment to craftsmanship in everything Blackrock builds.
Shae enjoys meeting with homeowners, learning what they envision, and helping turn their ideas into outdoor living spaces that fit their home, lifestyle, and needs. From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, his goal is to create something thoughtfully designed, well-built, and even better than the customer imagined.
Outside of Blackrock, Shae enjoys spending time with his wife and their five kids. Between soccer, football, dance, and musical theater, there is rarely a quiet weekend in the Hansen household. When they get the chance to slow down, the family loves traveling somewhere warm and spending time outdoors.
At the heart of Shae’s approach are two simple principles: quality and honesty. He wants Blackrock to be known for exceptional craftsmanship, honest service, and lasting relationships with customers as they build outdoor spaces that families can enjoy together.

From your first conversation with us through the completion of your project, we keep communication clear, consistent, and personal. We’re known for being responsive, keeping you informed, and making sure you always feel confident about what comes next.
We walk your space with you and design a project around materials, budget, and how you actually want to use your yard.
Permitting requirements vary by project. We’ll review your permitting options with you on a project-by-project basis.
Every project is different. Smaller builds may take a few days, while larger or more involved projects can take a few weeks. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
We register your material and labor warranties on your behalf, so you're covered.
